Choose the help you need
Our home removals service can include packing and unpacking, or you can pack your own belongings using suitable boxes and packing materials. Agree the scope in your quote, including any furniture dismantling, placement or packing-material collection you want to discuss.
For an office relocation, our office moving service can help you plan around the equipment and working areas you need to use first. Flag fragile, heavy or unusually shaped items early so the team can assess their handling.
Parking and loading for a Wimbledon move
Agree where the vehicle can load before moving day. Merton Council provides information on suspending parking bays and yellow lines, including arrangements for domestic removals. Check the current requirements for the actual street and confirm who will make any necessary application. If an address is outside Merton, check the relevant authority instead.
For private parking or a managed building, ask the owner or building manager about access permission, lift bookings and delivery times. Tell us about steps, tight landings or a long carry from the road, even if the move is only a short distance.
Smaller moves and individual items
Our man-and-van service is an option for smaller loads, studio or flat moves and individual pieces of furniture. The appropriate vehicle and crew depend on the inventory and access. Include bulky, fragile and heavy items when enquiring, rather than assuming they will fit a standard small-move package.
Storage between moving dates
If the new property is not ready, or you are downsizing or renovating, discuss storage before moving day. Container storage is suited to belongings you do not need to access frequently. If regular access matters, explore self-storage options through our storage partnership. Confirm availability, access arrangements, collection and redelivery with the team.
What to include when requesting a quote
- Collection and delivery postcodes, plus the entrance to use at each address.
- Your preferred moving date and whether it is confirmed.
- An inventory including loft, garage or outdoor items.
- Floor levels, stairs, lift dimensions and the loading position.
- Packing help, storage and any unusual handling requirements.
If explaining access by email is difficult, ask about a video survey. Keep essentials, documents and anything you will need during the move separate from the main packing.

I booked our removal with Gentleman & A Van and could not be happier with the whole experience.
Amy from the office was fantastic from the very beginning. She organised everything extremely well, was very accommodating and knowledgeable, and was always happy to answer any questions.
We had our removal last Saturday and the team was absolutely amazing!!! They were extremely professional, efficient, fast and friendly, and made what could have been a very stressful day feel completely stress-free. Everything was handled impeccably from start to finish, and the dismantling and reassembly of our furniture was done to the highest standard.

I couldn’t recommend this removal company highly enough! From start to finish, the communication was excellent – everything was really clear, and Amy in particular was very responsive and reassuring, which made the whole moving process feel so much less stressful.
The team on the day were absolutely brilliant. We happened to move on a 34-degree day, but despite the heat they were incredibly efficient, getting everything packed up and moved amazingly quickly while still taking care of all our belongings. Everything arrived safely and nothing was damaged or broken.
We unfortunately discovered that our sofa wouldn’t fit into the new house, but they arranged to store it for us at a really reasonable price and then delivered it to a storage unit a week later at a time that suited us – no fuss at all.
Moving house is stressful at the best of times (let alone in 34-degree heat and at 8 months pregnant!), but the whole team made the experience so much easier. Friendly, professional, efficient and genuinely helpful throughout. We’d absolutely use them again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them!

I was really impressed with the service. Terance and the team, whichever one we use as we use these guys a lot, always go above and beyond. If the job gets a bit tight time wise and because they have such a large crew they call a team that maybe finished quicker elsewhere than anticipated and they all help out to get the job done. Always professional and no complaints.

Can I give 10 stars? This company is amazing. They really really are very good at what they do. Every single person was excellent at what they do and they made out move as painless as possible and helped us out at quite short notice due to being let down by another supplier. Book in advance (unlike us). I can't recommend them highly enough. Amy and Sam are super heroes. Dont even contemplate any other company.

Could not recommend these guys more. Amy in the office was incredible; so efficient, knowledgeable and just lovely. Our original movers cancelled on us two days before our move, we thought we’d been clever and found cheap ones but they had so much small print it was going to work out double the quote. When questioned, they cancelled. We called these guys and Amy immediately came to the rescue (miraculous they had availability!!) within half an hour she’d organised our entire move, sent packers over to help and turned the most nightmare situation into a total triumph. Sam, Nic, Tom, Garry, Max, Taylor and the rest of the team were The Dream. So calm, capable, organised and knew exactly what they were doing. The safest possible hands and the nicest possible guys. They have totally transparent pricing which worked out basically the same as our dodgy ‘cheap’ ones and it was so fair for the level of professionalism and effort. I will never use anyone else again and am eternally grateful. THANK YOU for the best start to our new chapter 💙
